Queries & Feedback:
I would love to hear back from readers, on what you think after reading the book. Post any queries you may have regarding the purchase of this book.
Here's my review about this book, I think this is a good book to try for anyone new to stocks and looking to get into it purely for investment purposes and not as a career or day trading, etc.
After reading the book, I must say my outlook towards stock market is changed for my own good. Mani's recommendations would definitely seem profitable going by the logic. And this is the awesomeness of the book. Mani has explained it in such simple terms that even a complete newbie like me was also able to understand each and every word. Except EMA thing. And this is where I would like to ask Mani that if possible, please elaborate 50 day and 200 day EMA thing a bit more in your next edition so that a beginner like me would be able to grasp the concept. All in all I'd give this book 4.8 out of 5 (Sorry for the 0.2 Mani....EMA thing is bothering me...lol). Thanks for the wisdom Mani.
hi mani,
I have read the book " Art of stock investing- indian stock market".
The book is very much practical and I have gained confidence to enter into stock market.
I have 1 doubt in the book: regd. IPO of INFOSYS: " 1 share of Rs. 95 from 1993 IPO, it would be worth over 3 lakhs today (including dividends of around Rs. 25000)".
1 ) The market share price of INFOSYS is around Rs. 3000, but share price mentioned in the book as Rs. 3 lakhs: I think these two values are different. Please explain the difference
2) Please explain elaborately: how the Rs. 95 share reached Rs. 3 lakhs value , with dividends Rs. 25000.
thanks

Infosys was split shares 128 times (Bonus shares and face value change from 10 to 5) since IPO in 1993 ... You can find details about Infosys stock split history at Infosys - Investors | FAQs
Infosys IPO price was 95 Rs in 1993 ... Share price today is around 2900 Rs, after it has been split 128 times since IPO ... 2900 x 128 = 3.71 Lakhs ...
